OCC Legacy 839L has sired some excellent progeny in previous years and a tour of Harvey Bowerman's herd in the fall of 2006 revealed a potent set of sons. Although not an easy task, we sorted the bulls and 624 stood out as the top bull. 624 carried his appeal and level of performance throughout the winter. We valued him for his growth characteristics, reasonable birth, super mother and that rare presence about him that good breeding bulls have. The mother of a herd bull must have a strong production record and Ruby Majorette 124'96 does not dissapoint. We tried to purchase a son out of her in 2003 and failed. Then when a daughter become available we seized the opportunity and brought her home. So when 624 came in the ring on March 16 we dug in hard as we weren't about to let this one by us. Also of interest is that 124'96 is a maternal sister to BBAR Royce 24G who is the maternal grandsire to our Hero 1267 herd bull.
